Media Production A & B Media Production is an entry-level class with an emphasis on videography. Our production process begins with pre-planning and scriptwriting. Once the written piece is approved, teams film and edit their videos for a final grade. Choices for projects include news and documentary, short films, personal narratives, sports highlights, personality pieces for morning announcements, daily weather segments and more. Basic Studio Production A & B This is a one-year entry-level class that combines the same skills learned in Media Production A & B with the daily tasks of producing our video announcements program at FHS. Students work with studio cameras, audio mixing boards, microphones, studio lights, field cameras and video editors.Credits: .5 Open to: 9-12 Duration: One Term
Drama I Drama I is a course designed to introduce the students to the basics of acting for the stage. Students perform blocking and movement exercises, comedy improvisation, memorized group scenes, memorized monologues, memorized poetry and more. Main areas of evaluation are stage voice, character, body movement and scene memorization.Credits: .5 Open to: 9-12 Duration: One Term
Drama II Drama II allows students to move beyond acting performance to become directors of drama at FHS. We study and produce our own plays for the Fruitport stage through script and character analysis, blocking and stage movement, stage lighting and technical theater. Drama II students may also serve as student directors for Upstagers productions as our class schedule allows.
