Michigan Education Association ScholarshipCriteria: academic achievement, school/community service, extracurricular activities.  Student must attend a public state institution of higher education, or the few private institutions listed on the application.  This scholarship is available in the guidance office.

HUTT Scholarship Competition Lake Michigan Credit Union's Hutt Scholarship Contest offers 8 scholarships worth $2000 each.  The essay topic is "What is the major problem the U.S. faces and what would you do to fix it?".  Scholarship applications are available in the guidance office.DEADLINE: January 31, 2011

The Calvin J. Michigan Interscholastic Athletic Administrators AssociationThe Michigan Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association is offering four 1,000 scholarships honoring the state's top senior male and female student athletes. National Co-op Scholarship ProgramThe National Commission encourages minority and female students as well as students interested in Science-Math-Engineering-Technology to apply for a merit co-op scholarship. The Gerber Foundation Merit Scholarship

Community Foundation for Muskegon CountyThe CFFMC is offering scholarships for students based on cumulative GPA, class rank, ACT/SAT score, school and community involvement.  The application can be completed at  http://cffmc.org/DEADLINE: March 1, 2011

Muskegon County Chapter MARSP-MEA-Retired ScholarshipThis $1000 scholarship is available for a student who plans to attend Muskegon Community College.  The scholarship is available in the guidance office.  Only one application from FHS can be sent in.  Please give your completed application to your counselor by March 24 for consideration.DEADLINE: March 24, 2011

Fruitport Education Association Scholarship

Three scholarships of $500 each will be awarded to outstanding Fruitport graduates.  Award is based on GPA, ACT scores, and an essay stating why you deserve the award, community involvement, extra-curricular activities, financial needs for college, and plans after college.  Applications are available in the guidance office.

Muskegon Community College is offering a performance based scholarship for art students.  A minimum GPA of 2.0 is required.  Two reference letters are required. A portfolio with examples of art training is also required.  Applications are available in the guidance office.

FHS Seniors may apply for one of the following $1000 Scholarships:  Type A: GPA of 3.0 or higher and desire to complete a four-year degree program at a Michigan college or university.  Type B: GPA of 2.5 or higher and desire to pursue an occupation requiring less than a four-year degree.  Applications are available in the guidance office.
